Reimaging New York Public Library

New York Public Library is an enormous, elegant landmark in the city. A library and Research haven for many scholars, it is often a place that hosts talks, discussions and literary and cultural activities. The place is lively and bustling even though it maintains the quite sanctity of the library.

For the purpose of re-imagining the identity of the place I drew the identity closer to the buildings sophisticated architecture. I further created interpretive graphics around the theme of "Women who Built the NYPL" - the staff, the researchers, the builders, the writers and the readers. I weaved the new identity into this exhibition.
The space has Beaux-Art style architecture, one defined by sophisticated decoration and symmetry. The layers and the columns prompted me to choose a beautiful shaped bracket, which is  considered as a column in all languages.
Brochure for the exhibition "Hall of fame". The showcase consists of objects that relate to women's work in literature and research. The back of the brochure opens up to the Memorandum of July 1945, which spoke about equality of the two sexes. The cover is an amalgamation of overlapped objects that give a glimpse into the showcase.
NYPL hosts many talks and interviews, As a part of the branding, here is how the talk show "Read and Express" look.
No Library is complete without a readers library card.
                                                              Happy Reading!
